🧭 Job Overview:

AMET, Inc. is seeking a motivated, hands-on Mechanical Technician to support the production of advanced automated welding systems. In this role, you will fabricate and assemble components, panels, and enclosures using drill presses, grinders, band saws, and other general wood-, metal-, and sheet-metal-working tools.

The Mechanical Technician also prepares completed equipment for shipment, including packaging and crating, and follows CAD drawings, maintenance manuals, and technical specifications to complete work accurately. This position is ideal for someone with general shop experience who can work independently and has familiarity with sheet metal, welding, steel fabrication, pneumatic components, and water tubing systems. Some travel may be required.

📋 Responsibilities:

• Using and understanding power equipment such as but not limited to drill presses, grinders, band saws and other general wood, metal and sheet metal working tools
• Perform a variety of general tasks related to production of automated welding equipment
• Cutting and shearing steel and aluminum sheet metal
• Punching and cutting holes in panels and enclosures
• Shipping preparation including packaging and crating
• Mechanical assembly
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Able to read and understand CAD drawings, maintenance manuals and other written technical specifications
• Some travel may be necessary

🎓 Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years or older

• Minimum of 1 year general shop experience

• Experience with sheet metal, welding, steel fabrication is preferred

• Exposure to general pneumatic and water tubing, fittings, and valves
